Hey, Cookie Crew!!

Thank you for all of your patience while we waited for our wonderful designer to return. 

I will also be asking how much it would cost to order bulk of the glasses and earrings for people to be able to add on to their orders, but I'm a little hesitant since I haven't seen the quality of them in person yet. I'll get back to everyone on that.

Anyway, for now, let's look at the prototype images I've received! 

We'll start off with Camille! We are focusing on the head at the moment, because that seems to be the most difficult part.

This is a little more realistic than I've gone with past designs, but for Camille, I thought it would be worth seeing what it would look like.  Here was my drawing and reference plushie:

I'm really torn, myself. I enjoy the cartoonish proportions, but the  new one may seem more camel at the end of the day. I'll be reading feedback on this before I respond to them. (I do kind of miss the fluffier/tighter curled ear, though I enjoy the new size and placement.)



We also have an update on  Raina's head shape, too! Raina and Camille are so unique compared to our other characters that they're definitely slowing down the process, but I am excited to see them finished. ;~;

I think it's a huge improvement from the original one. I'm a little on the fence about the second horn, but I think I'd like to approve it, see it with a face and body, and then go from there?



This update might not be as exciting to anyone else, but I just love these little hats, so I'm going to share it.

Those are some big blueberries!! I want to gobble 'em up. I am going to ask for a photo of it on Mimi, because I feel like the whipped area needs to be fatter so it feels like the berries are being cradled more, but maybe on her head it will look like they are. Idunno! I'll update y'all when Grace is working and I get my grubby lil' hands on those photos. :3c

But for now, that's all the updates I have. I have to go work on redlines and edits for Jeanie and Toulouse. This part of the process is so agonizing, so I am grateful to have all of you along for the ride!!

Hey, Cookie Crew!

I have good news! Our designer is back in the office, so we can look forward to prototype updates very soon! I will update you as soon as I have photos again!

I was talking to our agent, Grace, last night and we were discussing Jeanie Jam's accessories. It turns out that there is a very high probability that her accessories (glasses and earrings) will likely NOT pass safety testing, and due to some changes in Customs protocol, they need to pass.

What does this mean? Well... it kind of means that she can't come with these two accessories. I will have to keep this in mind for future designs. It stinks, but I was going to go ahead and make another post soon with links to accessories that you can buy to decorate her with you if you'd like to. Maybe you have your own jewelry and ideas at home!

I was thinking of putting my grandma's glasses on her and some of her earrings. I feel like that'll be more meaningful anyway, and I've just been keeping her glasses at my desk. Now they'll have a purpose?

HEALTH STUFF/Where I've been--->
I'm sorry for my recent silence!! I got slammed by a cold that I got after I took my kiddo to urgent care (She is fine!!! Didn't even get a cold, too wth) and then as soon as I was better, I threw my back out. I have chronic backpain anyway, but this was some how worse. I was pulling one of our trashcans to the curb and was immediately hit with a wave of pain, went to bed, and when I woke up I couldn't hardly stand. I was on the floor crying like a little punk.

We managed to get me an online appointment with a doctor, and he prescribed me a couple of things that have helped tremendously, so I'm on the mend now. Just a reminder to take care of your back, y'all. I'm sure some of you totally know where I'm coming from with chronic pain issues. Sending you love and support, cause it stinks!! <--- End of Healthblalbhalblabbing



TLDR// I got a cold and then busted my weak ah back, but I'm better hehe



One more very important update!!! Our designer is on a one week leave from work, so that kind of stalls plushie updates. They could assign me a different designer, but I worry that the quality won't be the same, and our current designer is more familiar with the brand. She's so so good.

Not to say the other designers aren't, but they all have different techniques and stuff. They're not all built the same at all. It's an art in itself!

So, my plan is to just wait. She'll be back on the 27th, so it won't be too bad. Hopefully all is okay with her. 😭



Okay, onto plushie stuff!!! Before our designer went on leave, she gave us our first look at Fairycake! Please keep in mind that this IS the first sample, and not indicative of the final product!!

 

 
Here are my redlines for this first sample!



I'm on the fence about the white sprinkles on top of the icing, but I'd like to see the next sample with them before I make any decisions on that! I'm really excited to see sample 2. ^^



As for the our camel, I had to think a lot about it and I decided that it'd be nice to see our camel with a more traditional camel shaped head!



It's difficult to say how it will look until we see it in the fluff, but I asked that we focus on just the head for now, and then we'll tackle the body (which I feel like is already a lot closer than it was!



Our lucky backer who claimed the custom cookie slot also got an update!! Sunday is looking so cute already!  There are a few things that need to change, but I think for a first sample, they look amazing!!

This makes me want to design another bunny with floppy ears, too. The effect is so cute!

This has been a pretty awesome experience so far, so I'm really eager to offer more of these in the future! I might even work on plushies for people in private, if anyone would be interested in that! Like a commission sort of thing!



On a final note, I'm attaching a poll so we can decide Fairycake's first name once and for all!! Be sure to vote, but remember, if your choice doesn't win you are always welcome to name your cookies anything you like! ^^

Hey, Cookie Crew!!

We're still in the sample phase, so here are some new updates! We'll start with Camille! 

We are getting closer with the body. I think the ears need to be moved up a bit, and the face in general is still a puzzle to me haha. I want her to be stylized, but I also want her to read camel. This is definitely a thinker!

The hump is a little further back than I'd like, too... She is definitely new territory haha. I just know she is going to win number one spot for floppiest sweetie when we're done, though!!

We also got some updates on the hat accessories! 

I feel like the icing bit on the hat needs to be bigger so it feels like its swallowing the cake a bit more!? While the blueberries on the second accessory need to be bigger and cradled by the icing, too. HMM!!!

Looks like I have some redlining to do today. I really appreciate everyone's support and patience through this part of the journey. Getting the sample updates is probably pretty exciting, but then there is a quiet part between each update...

If there is anything you all would like me to do that will make the wait more bearable, let me know! I'm open to feedback, and if I think I can manage it, I will try!! 

I'd really like to do a livestream sometime featuring all the sweeties we have so far (plus maybe some Snughouls and pals!?) Would anyone be interested in that!?

I'm really shy and my voice annoys me so I don't want to annoy everyone, but I think it would be a fun way to familiarize everyone even more with the different characters and let people ask questions and stuff!

If enough people are interested, we'd just need to pick a date and time, which we can discuss soon!!!

Every package for Series 1 has gone out! I'm very happy about this, and thankful to everyone for their patience and support.

There were more delays than I expected, and the campaign grew to such a size that all my calculations really fell short. Of course, I made some mistakes a long the way, and have learned a lot, but I hope that everyone is very happy with their series 1 cookies, and I cannot wait to fulfill series 2!

ALSO!!! We always reserve some stock for exchanges and missing plushies so if you have an issue with your order there is no need to worry!!

In other news, I also worked on some redlines for Camille! She is a tough cookie (hehe) and I'm not sure how all these things will pan out in physical form. I've never worked on a plushie like this before, and it isn't until I see her that I start to get a feel for what can stay and what needs to change.

I hope everyone can keep an open mind between samples! I know I am!
